Plot

The film begins with Horace receiving a call from his former colleague, Detective Superintendent Catherine Kent. Kent tells Horace that a young woman named Lucy Oliver has been murdered, and the only clue is a diary that she was keeping.

Horace agrees to investigate the case, and he soon discovers that Lucy was a troubled young woman. She had been living in a homeless shelter, and she had a history of drug abuse. Horace also learns that Lucy had been keeping a diary, in which she had written about her experiences.

Horace believes that the diary may hold the key to finding Lucy's killer, so he sets out to decipher its contents. He soon discovers that Lucy had been involved in a number of illegal activities, including drug dealing and prostitution.

Horace also learns that Lucy had been having an affair with a married man named Richard. Richard is a wealthy businessman, and Horace believes that he may have been involved in Lucy's murder.

Horace continues to investigate the case, and he eventually discovers that Richard was responsible for Lucy's murder. He had killed her in a fit of rage after she had threatened to expose their affair.

Horace arrests Richard and charges him with murder. Richard is found guilty and sentenced to life in prison.
