Scope of the Journal

Trace publishes work on a wide range of topics related to race and ethnic studies, including:

  • The history of race and ethnicity
  • The sociology of race and ethnicity
  • The politics of race and ethnicity
  • The economics of race and ethnicity
  • The cultural studies of race and ethnicity
  • The education of race and ethnicity
  • The health of race and ethnicity
  • The law of race and ethnicity
  • The public policy of race and ethnicity

Trace is particularly interested in work that explores the intersections of race and ethnicity with other forms of social inequality, such as gender, class, and sexuality. The journal also welcomes work that examines the global dimensions of race and ethnicity.

Submission Guidelines

Trace accepts submissions from scholars at all stages of their careers, as well as from activists, policymakers, and other practitioners who are working to address the challenges of race and ethnicity in the 21st century. Submissions should be original work that has not been previously published.

The journal uses a double-blind peer review process. All submissions are reviewed by two anonymous reviewers who are experts in the field. The editorial board makes the final decision on which submissions to publish.
